Black oolong tea, a fully oxidized oolong variety, is characterized by a darker color, stronger flavor, and higher caffeine content compared to traditional oolong teas. This difference arises from the lengthier oxidation process it undergoes, which transforms its color, flavor profile, and caffeine levels. Black oolong tea is often described as having a malty, roasted, and slightly sweet flavor, with hints of charcoal, brown sugar, and ripe fruit. This robust character makes it a popular choice for those seeking a bolder oolong experience.

Our black oolong provides a nice contrast to our green oolong. This oolong is charcoal roasted and heavily fermented giving it a much "darker" flavor and really shows off the wide variety of flavors that oolong has. If you are craving a little earthier and roasted flavor than this would be a great tea to consider. It also is fun to pare with our green oolong when introducing friends and family to oolong.
